Breaking records since he was 7, it was in May of 2011 that Cameron caught the attention of the swimming world when he beat Ian Thorpe’s 100m record which had not been claimed in 10 years. At just 18, McEvoy earned himself a place in the London 2012 Olympic team. As one of the youngest in the team, representing Australia in the 4×100m and 4×200m freestyle relays with the worlds best, was a dream come true.
