Two golds, same games
Despite catching Covid-19 twice in the build up to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo (and missing almost two months of preparation), he went on to win the gold medals in the 200m freestyle and the men's 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay. This made him the first male British swimmer to win two gold Olympic medals at the same games in 113 years.
