With an incredible 11 Olympic medals, 5 gold, from 2 Olympic Games appearances, Emma is not only Australia’s most successful swimmer, she is also our most decorated Olympian across all sports. In 2022 Emma also broke the record for the most Commonwealth Games medals ever with 6 gold, one silver and one bronze bringing her total medal count across all Commonwealth Games to a hugely impressive 20.
Young Australian of the Year
In January 2024, Emma was named the 2024 Young Australian of the Year. In their words, “Emma illustrates the extraordinary capacity of what young Australians can achieve. Their work exemplifies strength, courage, and leadership in our communities, which resonate with all Australians”.
