Hope and Cam's top tips

Mix up your program by isolating your shoulders using a pullbuoy, and isolating your legs by using a kickboard.

1. MAKE USE OF TRAINING AIDS
Mix up your program by isolating your shoulders using a pullbuoy, and isolating your legs by using a kickboard.

2. FOCUS ON THE CORE
To have a good technique in the water, one’s core must always be activated. It is the main area that gives you the connection you need, from the tips of your fingers to the tips of your toes. Without the core, your swimming suffers.

3. DON'T LET WORK STOP YOU
When work becomes hectic, I still try to incorporate exercise in my daily routine in small but significant ways such as; replacing a short distance commute with brisk walking, taking the stairs instead of the lift, during breaktime I will do 10-15 minutes of high intensity workout.

4. FIND YOUR FITNESS INCENTIVE
In order to keep to a fitness routine, you need to identify the incentive for doing so. Everyone's incentive is different. The greatest pleasure for me when I'm swimming or practicing yoga is the feeling that I've brought the focus back onto myself, treating my body right, and the outcome of this is a trimmer and fitter body!

5. KEEP IT INTERESTING
Utilise Speedo's Swim Coach workouts and training plans to get the most of your swim sessions, mixing up your workouts and keeping it interesting.
