GOLD AND WORLD RECORD FOR TEAM SPEEDO IN MEN’S 800M FREESTYLE

Zhang Lin of the Speedo sponsored Chinese team powered to victory, gold and a world record in the men’s 800m Freestyle.

The race belonged to the swimmer who finished a good half body length ahead of his competitors. In an exciting finale that saw the crowd out of their seats, Lin smashed the 4 year old world record previously held by Grant Hackett, and sailed to the gold. Oussama Mellouli (TUN) took silver while Ryan Cochrane of the Speedo sponsored Canadian swim team took the bronze.
