Biography

Ryan is a Canadian distance swimmer who broke into the International stage in 2008 when he won a bronze medal in the 1500metres freestyle at the Beijing Olympics. He is the Canadian national record holder for 400metres, 800 metres and 1500metres freestyle and he was the first Canadian ever to break 15 minutes for 1500metres. most recently he has gone on to win a silver medal in the 1500metres freestyle at the London 2012 Olympics.

Ryan is currently a student at UVIC, where he trains at National swimming academy of Victoria under his coach Randy Bennett.
