200M BREASTSTROKE WORLD RECORD

Annamay Pierce of the Speedo sponsored Canadian team broke the World record in the semi-finals of the 200m breaststroke. Her time of 2:20.12 qualified her fastest for the final on Friday and was 0.10 faster than the previous mark held by Speedo sponsored USA Team member Rebecca Soni who qualified second fastest. Another qualifier from the Canadian team was Martha McCabe in 6th spot.
